Seth Oberlender is a writer who loves reading, watching movies, and playing video games. His current project is The Void Full of Starlight.
Seth lives and works in Newcastle Oklahoma as a fifth-grade teacher.
Seth Oberlender was born in September 1999 in Yakima, Washington. Seth enjoyed reading as a child in part to his mother, an avid reader. After middle school his love of reading began to falter because school started to force him to read books he didn’t like. This continued until he was introduced to Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. Seth’s love of reading was renewed, and it was during this time he discovered his favorite author: Patrick Rothfuss.
Seth enrolled at the University of Central Oklahoma in 2018 as a creative writing major but quickly changed it to English education to have a better chance at having a job outside of college. But while at college, Seth took classes on creative writing and wrote several short stories about robots and aliens in his free time. He tried to become published in a student-led magazine on campus but was never selected. After four years of school, Seth graduated Magna Cume Laude but decided to not become a teacher but instead focus on writing his first book in 2022. After finishing his book Seth felt ready to teach and found a position as a fifth-grade Social Studies and Writing teacher in Newcastle Oklahoma. He continues to teach at Newcastle as an English Language Arts teacher.
